  • A Boarding House Property Agent is responsible for managing boarding house properties on behalf of the property owner. Their role includes a variety of tasks related to the leasing, maintenance, and overall management of the boarding house. Here is a detailed job description:
    • Advertise vacant rooms and manage inquiries.
    • Conduct property viewings and show rooms to potential tenants.
    • Screen and vet prospective tenants through background checks, references, and interviews.
    • Negotiate rental terms and prepare lease agreements.
    • Ensure tenants adhere to the boarding house’s rules and regulations.
    • Manage rent collection, late payments, and follow-up with tenants on overdue rent.
    • Handle tenant disputes and complaints, aiming to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

    Requirements

    • Minimum Education: A high school diploma or equivalent. Some positions may require a college degree, especially in fields such as property management or real estate.
    • Property Management Certification: Certifications such as the Certified Property Manager (CPM) or Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) may be a plus
    • Local Boarding House Regulations: Knowledge of or certification related to local boarding house laws, zoning regulations, and tenant rights is important, particularly in areas with specific rules governing shared accommodations.
    • Customer Service Experience: Strong background in customer service is often required, as the role involves regular interaction with tenants and resolving complaints or issues in a professional manner.
