Quality Assurance Tester

Areas of Responsibilities

• Creates and review test designs (test charters) for web, API, and mobile apps
• Be an SME of the product being tested and secondary SME of another
• Create and review test data for web, API, and mobile apps testing
• Identify commonly missed test data
• Coach Jr. QEs on well-scoped test data
• Identify patterns on missed tests, format challenges, lack of test data, ambiguities and written communication challenges.
• Ensure prioritization and tagging (smoke testing, regression) are correct
• Execute web, API, and mobile tests
• Identify tests there repeatedly being missed from the test designs and only realized during test execution
• Raise issues to the entire development team soon as identified
• Report and review bugs found in the apps in web, API, and mobile apps
• Probe what is the cause of the bug
• Follow up on the fixes for the issues found by the QEs

Areas of Competencies

• Graduate of any IT/CS related courses
• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in software development industry as QA/QE
• Experience in requirement analysis and test creation
• Experience in Functional testing but not limited to smoke, end-to-end, integration, regression testing, and compatibility testing
• Must have self-motivation and a can-do attitude
• Must have an understanding of development practices (Scrum or Kanban, Waterfall)
• Fast learner and can quickly adapt to changes
• Must be methodological and structured
