ROLE SUMMARY

Our client is looking for a Fund Accountant (Retirement Plan), internally known as Retirement Plan Administrator I, who will work directly with the client’s 401(k) plans by reconciling plan assets, performing annual 401(k) plan testing, calculating employee eligibility, preparing annual reports, and filing 5500s. This role will primarily focus on handling plans with a safe harbor design with employee deferrals or participant distributions and loans. He/she will also educate clients on the administration of their plan.


WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Mountain Daylight Time (10:00 PM – 7:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays


POSITION TYPE: Full Time


WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with clients to obtain the necessary information needed to prepare the annual reporting
  • Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy
  • Reconcile safe harbor plans with deferrals or plans with distributions and loans using Excel and administration software
  • Prepare participant loan origination documents
  • Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting
  • Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process
  • Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software
  • Share knowledge and explain complex topics simply
  • Undergo training on the concepts for a Retirement Plan Administrator II
  • Contribute to department and team projects
  • Performs other duties as required


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field (business, finance, etc.) or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of 401(K) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL Regulations is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and proactive approach to problem solving
  • Skills in customer service, organization, and collaboration
  • Adequate math and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in an autonomous environment where you can be a self-directed worker
  • Ability to create an inclusive workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging by empowering all our employees to speak up, ask questions, and been seen
