The Vice President of Human Resources provides executive-level leadership and guidance to the organizations HR and Management team
Assists top management in strategic planning and tracking of the company’s performance against its objectives.
Responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals for succession planning.
Responsible for the successful recruitment, development and training of management level HR and Corporate Staff/Department Heads.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organizations long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management.
Identifies key performance indicators for the organizations human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organizations success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
Drafts and implements the organizations staffing budget, and the budget for the human resource department.
Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.
Maintain an effective human resource system by maintaining up-to-date job descriptions and recruiting individuals with appropriate qualifications for positions as they become available
Oversees the entire corporate planning process, including strategic planning, talent management and succession planning.
Manages the company’s strategic plan by keeping track of the company’s performance against its objectives
Monitors the company’s financial condition in coordination with the Finance team regularly to ensure that it meets projections
Develops strategies for increasing market share or lowering costs within set priorities
Makes recommendations on capital expenditures to help ensure that needed assets are available when required
Coordinates activities between departments to ensure that projects are completed on schedule
Serves as a link between management and other functional areas, such as marketing or operations
Develops budgets within set guidelines to ensure sufficient funds are available for new projects
Keep up with current trends in organizational management and corporate paradigms to help ensure that competitive advantages are maintained over time
Submit regular reports on progress toward objectives, both internally and externally as needed
Oversee contingency planning efforts to prepare for potential changes in business conditions or opportunities/threats that may arise unexpectedly
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualification Criteria:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or any related discipline; Master’s degree is an advantage.
Minimum of 10 years of intensive experience in Human Resources and Organizational Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership position
Deep knowledge of the full spectrum of HR from talent acquisition/hiring, on-boarding, performance management and evaluation, organizational development, and employee retention and/or disengagement
Capable of enhancing employee engagement and organizational performance through effective talent management strategies
Comprehensive understanding of labor laws and regulations, with strong experience in managing labor relations
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with ability to influence and motivate diverse teams
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a results-driven approach to problem-solving
