Description
This position supports DPP-Tag's role in providing timely advisory to firm personnel on matters related to accounting and financial reporting standards and developments, training, consultation, and financial statements quality control review.
Advisory
- Monitor developments on subject matters related to accounting and financial reporting
- Assign items/areas of responsibility to associates/assistants and review the monitoring work of Associates/assistants.
- Identify any potential impact on the financial statements or clients and actions that engagement teams may communicate
- Conduct research or consultation with subject matter experts or topic team members, or with the regional or global contacts if necessary.
- Draft review memos, alerts, and reminders for dissemination of relevant developments, guidance, templates, tools, and Firm positions on accounting and financial reporting matters to the Firm's professionals
Consultation
- Provide consultation and respond to technical queries primarily on complex accounting and financial reporting requirements
- Provide guidance to subordinates in handling their respective queries
Financial Statements Quality Control Review (FSQCR)
- Perform (FSQCR) by reviewing financial statements for compliance with relevant presentation and disclosure requirements, and related auditor's report compliance with relevant auditing standards.
Training
- Serve as facilitator/trainer in the roll out of training on subject matters related to accounting and Financial reporting
- Drat localized KPMG international training materials on accounting and financial reporting
- Develop local training materials on accounting and financial reporting
Competencies
- Strong knowledge of IRS/PFRS. Knowledge of other financial reporting frameworks is an advantage (US GAAP. PFRF for Cooperatives, or other financial reporting frameworks prescribed by regulatory agencies such as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas or the Insurance Commission).
- Knowledge of ISA/PSA

Experience, Education, and Licenses
- Any or a combination of work experience (2 to 3 years) in the following areas: technical advisor - e.g., accounting, audit support
- Public audit with experience in auditing complex accounting areas
- Financial reporting
- Preparation of training content related to complex accounting areas
- Preparation of internal and/or external formal communications and materials, including IFRS/PFRS related content
- Project management
- B.S. Accountancy
- Certified Public Accountant
