Financial Accountant for an AU-based client (Work from Home)

Pleco is looking for an experienced Accountant to support one of our valued international clients in the education and digital services sector. This role involves a strong mix of financial and management accounting responsibilities, with a focus on maintaining financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do:

? Financial Accounting

• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other financial statements

• Perform revenue reconciliation across multiple business units including training, education, and digital services

• Ensure compliance with tax requirements—VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory filings

• Maintain the general ledger and resolve any discrepancies

• Support financial audits through timely and accurate documentation

• Strengthen internal financial controls

• Manage accruals and reconcile unearned/prepaid ledgers monthly

? Management Accounting

• Analyze costs and work with operations to identify savings and ensure budget adherence

• Deliver financial insights and metrics to support strategic decision-making

? Additional Responsibilities

• Serve as the finance point of contact for internal and external stakeholders

• Contribute to ad-hoc financial projects and system/process improvements

• Prepare monthly commissions for two business units and validate accuracy

What We’re Looking For:

✔ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

✔ Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) preferred

✔ Proven experience in both financial and management accounting

✔ Familiarity with accounting platforms (Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central)

✔ Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills

✔ Strong attention to detail and data accuracy

✔ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

✔ Excellent communication and collaboration skills
