Job Summary:

• We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Audio Visual (AV) Technician to join our team. The AV Technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting audio, video, and lighting equipment for live events, meetings, conferences, and other multimedia presentations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AV technology and a passion for delivering high-quality audiovisual experiences.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced, hands-on environment requiring technical expertise and adaptability.
• Frequent interaction with clients, event staff, and vendors.
• May require travel to off-site locations for installations or support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate AV equipment including microphones, speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, and lighting systems.
• Install and configure AV systems in event spaces, conference rooms, and other venues.
• Provide on-site technical support during live events and meetings to ensure smooth execution.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with AV equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with event organizers, IT teams, and venue staff to understand AV requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.
• Maintain inventory of AV equipment and track equipment usage and maintenance needs.
• Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on AV systems.
• Document equipment configurations, service logs, and user guides as needed.
• Stay up to date with emerging AV technologies and industry trends.

Requirements:

• Associate degree or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience as an AV Technician or similar role.
• Solid knowledge of audio, video, and lighting systems, including troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with AV software (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Crestron, Q-SYS, Extron).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment (typically up to 50 lbs) and work in various physical environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AV certifications (e.g., AVIXA CTS, Dante, Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS).
• Experience with live event production, broadcasting, or corporate AV systems.
• Understanding of networking and IT infrastructure as it relates to AV systems.
