Purpose of the Job:

• The role is responsible to undertake mechanical drawings (2D&3D) and mechanical calculations to the mechanical design packages for the assigned project.
• The junior engineer should be able to perform the design and calculations with limited supervision to meet flag, classification societies, technical specification requirement and be fit for purpose. This above is to meet the project schedule and allocate design budget.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Undertake 2D and 3D mechanical drawings in Autocad and Plant 3D/SHIPCON
• Undertake mechanical calculations for pipe flow, pump selection and various mechanical equipment (Shafting, rudders etc)
• Prepare requisitions and provide technical support to the Mechanical Design Team and production.
• Coordinate with Production and SCM

Essential

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
• Has 3+ years relevant work experience preferably in Aluminium or Steel shipbuilding projects
• Strong mechanical knowledge design skills to meet vessel specification & rules requirements.
• Good knowledge of classification society/Flag rule requirement.
• Excellent competence of 2D/3D (Autocad) & Navisworks
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with design, production and project teams in written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical skills to undertaken problem solving and experience with calculations and using excel.

Desirable

• Aluminium shipbuilding experience
• Licensed Philippine Mechanical Engineer
• Familiarity with 3D SHIP CAD software (SHIPCON and Plant 3D)
• Other 3D model software
