We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Data Project Manager to lead and manage data-centric projects within our organization. This role involves planning, executing, and delivering data projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. We are looking for someone with:

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field.
• Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) are advantageous.

Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on data projects.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and delivering successful data projects.
• Experience in agile project management methodologies is a plus.
• Experience with machine learning and data science projects is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data privacy and security
• Detail-minded individual with strong sense of responsibility and proactiveness who can work well under pressure and tight schedules
• Proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin is an advantage
• Coordinate between multiple overseas teams

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of data management, data warehousing, and data analytics technologies.
• Familiarity with Cloud based big data technologies (e.g. SQL, Python, Spark, DataBricks, DataFactory, PowerBI, Fabric) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, Sharepoint).

Project Management Skills:

• Proven track record of managing complex data projects, from initiation to closure.
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:

• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

• Strong analytical skills to assess project performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ability to solve complex problems and make informed decisions under pressure.

Business Acumen:

• Understanding business objectives. Ability to align data projects with broader business goals
• Value proposition with skill in articulating the business value of big data initiatives

On the job you will:

• Project Intake and Initiation:
• Support the build of business case by identifying business needs, conducting feasibility study, identifying business benefits, developing project charter, and obtaining stakeholder approval
• Manage project intake by conducting project effort estimate, prioritization against Book of Work, confirming project funding and planning resources capacity
• Support project initiation including establishing project governance structure, resource planning, defining project roadmap, conducting project kickoff

• Project Planning and Management:
• Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Define project success criteria and ensure alignment with business goals.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.

• Execution and Delivery:
• Lead the execution of data projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.
• Coordinate tasks, resources, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
• Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.

• Stakeholder Management:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, presentations, and status updates.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure their needs are addressed.

• Team Leadership:
• Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and expertise.
• Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to project team members.

• Quality Assurance:
• Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.
• Conduct regular quality reviews and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Budget and Resource Management:
• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Track project expenses and ensure they remain within approved budgets.
• Optimize resource allocation to maximize project efficiency and effectiveness.

• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in project management.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data technologies and project management methodologies.
