Description

IT Support Specialist – Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery & User Support

  • Provide timely resolution of hardware, software, and network issues for end-users.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to address technical incidents.
  • Offer on-site and remote IT assistance across multiple office locations.
  • Maintain and update IT documentation, including asset inventories and user access records.​

Infrastructure & Network Support

  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT hardware and network devices.
  • Support network-related tasks, including cabling and router/switch configuration.
  • Ensure the availability and functionality of internal systems and applications.
  • Participate in periodic upgrades, patching, and preventive maintenance activities.​

Systems Security & Compliance

  • Monitor security infrastructure and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
  • Assist in conducting internal information security training and awareness campaigns.
  • Contribute to ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate IT standards.​

Project Implementation & IT Initiatives

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver IT projects and initiatives.
  • Support system rollouts, migrations, and deployment of new IT tools or platforms.
  • Assist in testing, documentation, and user training as part of project activities.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for continuous improvement in IT service delivery.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications: CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, or similar credentials.​
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Ability to resolve complex hardware and software issues efficiently.​
  • System Administration: Experience with Google Workspace, Office 365, and Active Directory.​
  • Network Management: Skills in configuring and maintaining network devices and services.​
  • Security Practices: Knowledge of data protection, encryption, and secure access protocols.​
  • Automation Skills: Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell or Bash for task automation.​
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to explain technical issues to non-technical users.​
  • Customer Service: Patience and empathy to provide excellent support and build user trust.​
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or a related field.​
  • Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on technical support experience.​
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and office productivity software.​
  • Networking Basics: Familiarity with LAN/WAN concepts, routers, switches, and IP addressing.​
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Experience in diagnosing and resolving issues with desktops, printers, and mobile devices.​
  • Cybersecurity Awareness: Exposure to system monitoring tools, firewalls, and basic cybersecurity practices is advantageous.​
