Position Summary


Asst. Manager – Tax & Commercial Legal responsibilities include developing solutions for current and potential PH tax & commercial legal issues, keeping abreast of new developments in legislations with focus on PH Tax & Legal compliance and providing updates to both regional and local management on regular basis.

The role would entail managing commercial legal & tax operations with the goal to keep Jebsen & Jessen Philippines Entities legally compliant with country laws and practices. Regular review of Jebsen & Jessen Philippines Entities tax requirements working closely with Financial Planning Analysts on monthly, quarterly and annual reportorial submissions to BIR encompassing all areas of Taxation. Complete and accurate recording and reports filed on time according to prescribed calendar timeline of local tax authorities.


Main Responsibilities


· Review tax reports prepared by Financial Planning Analysts of each Jebsen & Jessen Philippines entity for completeness and accuracy prior filing of local tax returns in a timely manner.

· Develop annual tax planning to address key areas of concern based on BIR tax findings of non-compliance (LOA, PAN, FAN, FDDA) and recommendations by tax consultants.

· Identify potential tax problems and recommend solutions/alternatives.

· Outline responses and prepare schedules and reconciliations in preparation for income tax audits.

· Monitor developments in tax legislation i.e. RMOs and inform both local and regional management.

· Review and evaluate compliance to all tax-related transactions and processes.

· Supervise Financial Planning Analysts of each Jebesen & Jessen Philippines Entities to ensure that tax returns / deferred tax packages are completed correctly / in a timely manner.

· Liaise with BIR and government offices when needed.

· Assist with tax compliance deadlines, extensions and audits.

· Review HR reportorial to BIR for Compensation and Benefits on Accuracy of Tax Deductions, Withholding and filing.

· Build rapport with local tax authorities.



Qualifications


· Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, taxation, finance, business or related field.

· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

· Board Passer on Philippines Law (Lawyer) is preferred.

· Between 3 to 5 years relevant working experience related to tax operations and exposure in handling BIR audits.

· Experience in managing litigations with BIR (preferred).

· Updated knowledge of finance and tax legislation.

· Expertise in preparing reconciliations, working papers and writing responses against tax findings
