Operational Duties:
1. Staff Management:
● Train, evaluate, and oversee maintenance staff to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards.
● Step in to assist with more complex maintenance tasks when necessary.
2. Work Prioritization and Oversight:
● Perform regular inspections and oversight of maintenance work to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
3. Budget and Financial Management:
● Manage the maintenance department’s budget and coordinate expenses for approval.
● Forecast, order, and negotiate prices for spare parts inventory to ensure cost-effectiveness and availability.
4. Tools and Equipment Management:
● Ensure the availability of necessary tools, spares, and equipment for maintenance tasks.
5. Proactive Maintenance Strategy:
● Implement inventory management systems to track and manage tools and spare parts effectively.
● Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all maintenance work.
6. Preventive Maintenance:
● Create preventive maintenance procedures and checklists to ensure regular and thorough maintenance of all plant machinery and infrastructure.
7. Record Keeping
● Maintain detailed records of all maintenance work, including dates, items withdrawn, supplier information, root cause of issues, and solutions implemented.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring Optimal Staffing:
● Ensure the department has the right personnel assigned to the appropriate jobs at the right time.
2. Prioritizing Work:
● Prioritize maintenance work across the team to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
3. Quality Assurance:
● Monitor the effectiveness of preventive maintenance programs and make adjustments as necessary.
4. Safety and Compliance:
● Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in maintenance.
● Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
5. Communication and Coordination:
● Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
● Resolve any issues that may arise during maintenance operations.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
● Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including dates, work done, parts used, suppliers, root causes, and solutions.
● Ensure that maintenance records are updated and readily accessible for review and analysis.
● Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
● Effective leadership and supervisory skills.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving complex maintenance issues.
● Negotiation skills for managing spare parts procurement and vendor relationships.
● Strong record-keeping and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
