CloudMarc is Hiring – PHP Developer – LMS/Moodle Specialist (Contract | Philippines)

CloudMarc is a global consultancy that partners with leading organisations to deliver high-quality technology solutions. We're currently seeking a PHP Developer with strong Moodle LMS experience for a short-term contract, working remotely from the Philippines.

?️ Key Responsibilities:

• Upgrade and refactor PHP codebase from 5.3 to 8.4 (address deprecated libraries like Smarty, phpseclib).
• Maintain Moodle-based systems, including user/group management and enrolment syncing.
• Support Echo360 data import integrations dependent on timetabling systems.
• Schedule and manage CRON jobs (SIS loaders, Moodle syncs, allocations).
• Migrate/configure projects across environments (G4, Azure, RHEL).
• Set up CI/CD pipelines and environments (RHEL9).
• Integrate LMS with Active Directory for admin/user provisioning.
• Improve logging, configuration, and middleware systems.
• Build and maintain internal tools across MMS and LMS platforms.
• Work closely with delivery, infrastructure, and support teams.

? Tech Stack & Requirements:

• Solid PHP development experience, with proven legacy upgrade work (5.3 to 8.4).
• Extensive Moodle LMS customisation and support experience.
• Strong CRON scripting and Linux (RHEL) experience.
• SQL knowledge, data integrations (SIS/LMS), and dependency management.
• Familiarity with Smarty templates, Azure environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of Active Directory and user sync mechanisms.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in higher education or ed-tech.
• Middleware integration exposure.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, IP whitelisting, and system hardening.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of PHP development experience.
• Proven background in Moodle LMS.
• Strong understanding of educational systems and data flows.
• Independent, detail-oriented, and strong communicator.
