Description

  • Customer Service:
  • Greet customers as they arrive and escort them to their table.
  • Provide menus and answer any questions about the menu items, daily specials, or restaurant offerings.
  • Take customer orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen or bar staff.
  • Ensure customer needs are met promptly and effectively during their dining experience.
  • Handle special requests, such as food allergies or dietary preferences, with attention to detail.
  • Check in with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any issues or concerns during the meal.
  • Food and Beverage Service:
  • Serve food and drinks to customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Deliver food to the table according to restaurant standards, ensuring the correct order and presentation.
  • Refill beverages, clear empty dishes, and offer additional items as necessary (e.g., condiments, bread, etc.).
  • Upsell menu items or suggest daily specials to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
  • Order Management and Communication:
  • Accurately input orders into the restaurant’s POS system and relay them to the kitchen or bar staff.
  • Communicate with the kitchen and other staff to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of food and beverages.
  • Keep track of customer orders and ensure timely delivery of items without errors or delays.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness:
  • Keep tables and surrounding areas clean and organized throughout the meal.
  • Clear dirty dishes, utensils, and glasses promptly and clean the dining area when needed.
  • Reset tables for the next customer in accordance with restaurant protocols.
  • Handling Payments:
  • Present the check to customers, process payments, and handle cash or credit card transactions accurately.
  • Provide receipts and ensure that guests are satisfied before they leave.
  • Teamwork:
  • Work closely with other servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Help colleagues when necessary, such as assisting with food running, setting up tables, or restocking supplies.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and effective communication with all team members.
  • Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including cleanliness and proper handling of food and beverages.
  • Follow restaurant policies regarding health and safety, including handling food allergies, dietary restrictions, and hygiene practices.

Requirements

  • Experience:
  • Previous experience as a waiter or in a customer service role is often preferred but not always required for entry-level positions.
  • Customer Service Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Attention to Detail:
  • Ability to listen carefully to customer orders, remember preferences, and provide excellent service.
  • Multitasking:
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tables, orders, and customer needs simultaneously.
  • Physical Stamina:
  • Ability to stand for long periods, carry trays or large items, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving:
  • Ability to address customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
