Description

Develop Leadership Skills. As a Cybersecurity Infrastructure Manager, you must have strong leadership skills in order to effectively manage the IT security team. This includes having excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Additionally, you should be able to foster a culture of collaboration and trust within your team.


  • Design and implement security protocols and systems to protect company networks, systems, and data.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, risk assessments, and penetration tests to identify potential security issues.
  • Monitor and analyze security events to detect potential security threats.
  • Develop and maintain firewall rules, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security controls.
  • Establish and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Manage the installation and configuration of security hardware and software.
  • Stay abreast of current security trends, threats, and countermeasures.
  • Prepare incident reports and recommend solutions to prevent future incidents.
  • Train staff on security best practices.
  • Investigate suspected security breaches and take appropriate action.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, information technology, or a related engineering field
  • Obtain Certification. It is important for a Cybersecurity Infrastructure Manager to obtain certifications in order to demonstrate their knowledge and experience in the field.
  • Some of the popular certifications for this role include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and CompTIA Security+.Obtain Work Experience.
  • Working in the field of cybersecurity is essential for gaining the skills and experience necessary to be successful in the role of Cybersecurity Infrastructure Manager.
  • You should try to obtain at least three years of experience working as an IT security professional in order to be qualified for the role.
  • Gain Technical Skills. You should also aim to develop your technical skills in order to become an effective Cybersecurity Infrastructure Manager.
  • This includes having a deep understanding of network security, computer forensics, risk management, and incident response. Additionally, you should become familiar with different software tools and technologies that are used for cybersecurity.
