Description

A Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, order, and presentation in guest rooms and other areas of a hotel, resort, or similar establishment. Their primary role is to ensure guests have a comfortable and pleasant stay by providing clean, well-maintained rooms.
Job Description:
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Clean guest rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, replenishing towels, and restocking amenities.
Sanitize bathroom fixtures and surfaces.
Report any maintenance issues to the supervisor or maintenance team.
Ensure cleanliness of hallways, stairwells, and elevators when needed.
Guest Service:
Respond to guest requests for additional supplies or services in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain a positive and friendly attitude with guests.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and maintain stock of cleaning supplies and room amenities.
Ensure that items such as toiletries, linens, and other room essentials are well-stocked.
Safety and Security:
Follow hotel safety and security protocols to ensure the well-being of guests and staff.
Lock doors, windows, and secure any valuables within the room when cleaning.
Special Requests:
Fulfill guest requests for extra pillows, blankets, or any other special needs.
Set up rooms for specific events, such as welcome amenities or decorations, as needed.
Team Collaboration:
Work with other hotel staff, such as housekeeping supervisors, front desk personnel, and maintenance teams, to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

Requirements

Experience:
Previous experience in housekeeping or a cleaning role is typically preferred but not always required.
On-the-job training is often provided.
Skills and Abilities:
Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good time management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and colleagues.
Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (e.g., bags of linens, cleaning equipment).
Must be able to work in various physical conditions (e.g., standing, bending, lifting).
Other Requirements:
Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Must maintain a clean and professional appearance.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques and materials is a plus.
Ability to follow safety and hygiene protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous customer service experience is a bonus.
