About the role:

PCX Markets is seeking a proactive and strategically-minded Regional Sustainability Lead to drive business development efforts and secure strategic partnerships across the Asia Pacific, and Europe. Reporting to the Commercial Director, this role will be critical in expanding PCX’s impact by capturing plastic responsibility opportunities with corporations, fostering ecosystem partnerships, and supporting the development of innovative solutions to help achieve PCX’s mission of having no plastic ending up in nature and enabling a circular economy.

As a key representative in the region, the Regional Sustainability Lead will work closely with the partner companies’ commercial and sustainability teams and develop market or company-specific offerings, while building alliances with stakeholders in waste management, recycling, and sustainability. This position will play a crucial role in strengthening PCX’s position as a leader in plastic credits and extended producer responsibility (EPR) solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Partnerships: Identify, establish, and nurture new business opportunities with key companies that have significant plastic footprint. Spearhead sales efforts to meet revenue targets, leveraging extensive industry connections and sales expertise.
  • Solution Development & Innovation: Collaborate with PCX’s Strategy/Product Development, Marketing and Sustainable Partnerships teams to enhance PCX’s offerings, developing tailored solutions for Asia Pacific, and Europe. Identify market trends, pilot new services, and refine offerings based on client feedback to ensure alignment with regional sustainability needs.
  • Representation & Networking: Represent PCX Markets at industry associations, conferences, and events, enhancing the company's presence and credibility. Develop and sustain strong networks with industry leaders and stakeholders.
  • Market Intelligence: Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitor movements, and regulatory changes impacting the plastic sustainability sector in regions covered. Provide insights to inform strategic decision-making.


Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 12 years in a commercial role (business development, sales, or general management), preferably in environmental sustainability, consumer goods, or retail industries.
  • Industry Connections: A well-established network within consumer goods and retail sectors.
  • Sales Expertise: Proven success in initiating, negotiating, and closing high-value transactions.
  • Sustainability Knowledge: Strong commitment to environmental sustainability with an understanding of regulatory landscapes in the sustainability domain.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Proven leadership skills with experience in team development, recruitment, and staff management.
  • Product/Solutions Development: Experience in the development of new products and solutions in the B2B space, from ideation to commercialization.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively represent PCX Markets in various professional forums.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree is advantageous.

Work Arrangement - Manila, Philippines (Hybrid):

This role offers a hybrid model, combining the flexibility of remote work with weekly office presence for team integration. Additionally, it involves essential in-person client meetings for effective relationship building and business development.
