? About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Innovation Officer, the Product Development Manager will spearhead the creation of a new product line in collaboration with the creative team. This role requires a self-starter with strong initiative, capable of managing external partners, negotiating with manufacturers and prototyping specialists, and driving cost-efficient solutions. Over the course of a three-month contract, the manager will be responsible for leading the development of functional prototypes across multiple product tiers, ensuring alignment with design vision, technical feasibility, and production viability.

Responsibilities

Product Development

Working with the creative team under the Chief Innovation Officer's guidance to:

• Develop a complete product line across three price tiers

• Transform approved designs into manufacturable prototypes

• Create comprehensive technical specifications for each product tier

• Ensure prototype quality meets internal standards

• Integrate technology components with physical design elements

Manufacturing Coordination

• Identify and engage with manufacturing partners and 3D print makers

• Proactively negotiate with vendors to optimize costs while maintaining quality

• Implement quality control systems for prototype evaluation

• Oversee prototype development across all product tiers

• Source appropriate materials for each product version

• Establish efficient communication channels with all external partners

Technical Implementation

• Coordinate integration of motion tracking technology in prototypes

• Work with software developers on camera-based gameplay features

• Ensure authentication functionality works properly in all models

• Test and document performance metrics for each product tier

• Identify and solve technical challenges during development

• Document technical specifications for future scaling

Communication Requirements

Documentation & Reporting:

• Provide detailed daily progress updates via project management system

• Submit weekly written reports on prototype development status

• Create comprehensive technical documentation for all prototypes

• Develop manufacturing guides and specifications for production partners

• Document all vendor communications and negotiations

Stakeholder Communication:

• Lead bi-weekly prototype demonstrations for internal stakeholders

• Create presentation materials for milestone reviews

• Develop clear, non-technical summaries for executive updates

• Maintain regular communication with manufacturing partners

• Provide timely updates on any project risks or delays

Knowledge Transfer:

• Document all technical decisions and their rationales

• Create assembly and testing guides for all prototypes

• Develop handover documentation for production team

• Record lessons learned throughout the development process

• Build a comprehensive knowledge base for future reference

Quality Assurance Requirements

Testing Protocols:

• Develop comprehensive testing protocols for each product tier

• Implement standardized testing procedures for all prototypes

• Create documented validation criteria for:

- Motion tracking accuracy (minimum 90% accuracy rate)

- Authentication system reliability (99% success rate)

- Physical durability (drop tests, stress tests, etc.)

- Environmental condition tolerance (temperature, humidity, etc.)

- Battery life and power efficiency

- Software integration performance

Quality Verification:

• Perform regular quality audits on all prototype iterations

• Conduct blind comparative testing between product tiers

• Implement formal sign-off processes for each development milestone

• Document all test results with photographic/video evidence

• Maintain detailed quality incident logs and resolution documentation

Performance Benchmarking:

• Establish performance metrics for all product functionalities

• Create baseline performance expectations for each product tier

• Conduct comparative analysis against similar market products

• Document performance improvements across prototype iterations

• Develop minimum acceptable quality standards for production

• 2+ years of 3D printing experience

• A strong portfolio showcasing your Product Development expertise ?
