1. Import Documentation:


• Prepare and process necessary import documents (e.g., Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Import Permit, etc.).

• Ensure all documents are compliant with Philippine import regulations and customs laws.


2. Customs Compliance:


• Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure all shipments comply with the Bureau of Customs (BOC) regulations.

• Keep updated on import-related regulations, taxes, tariffs, and duties.

• Resolve issues related to customs clearance and ensure timely release of goods.


3. Inventory Management:


• Track the status of incoming shipments and manage inventory records.


• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and timely delivery of imported goods.


4. Vendor and Supplier Coordination:


• Liaise with international suppliers and vendors to ensure proper order processing, shipment schedules, and logistics coordination.


• Verify and follow up on shipment details, including terms of delivery and payment.


5. Logistics Management:


• Coordinate with freight forwarders and shipping companies for the transport of goods.


• Ensure goods are delivered on time and within budget by tracking shipments and resolving any delays.


6. Cost Control:


• Monitor import costs and work to minimize expenses through efficient processes and negotiation with suppliers or shipping partners.


• Review import invoices to ensure accuracy in charges and payment terms.


7. Reporting:


• Maintain records of import transactions, including costs, shipment details, and customs clearance status.


• Prepare reports for management on the status of imports, potential issues, and cost savings.


8. Risk Management:


• Identify potential risks in the importation process (e.g., delays, cost overruns, damage to goods) and propose solutions.


• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly for regulated goods (e.g., food, chemicals, medicines).


9. Customer Service:


• Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders regarding the status of import shipments and any issues that arise.


• Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns related to product arrival and import status.



Qualifications:



Education:


• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Customs Administration, or any related field.




Work Experience:


• At least 1-2 years of experience in importation, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.


• Experience with customs clearance and knowledge of Philippine import regulations is highly desirable.




Skills and Competencies:


1. Knowledge of Import Regulations:


• Strong understanding of Philippine Bureau of Customs (BOC) rules and regulations.


• Familiarity with international shipping terms (Incoterms) and import/export documentation.


2. Communication Skills:


• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English and Filipino to coordinate with suppliers, customs, and internal teams.


3. Attention to Detail:


• Ability to manage multiple tasks, check documents for accuracy, and ensure compliance with regulations.


4. Problem-Solving Skills:


• Ability to identify and resolve issues related to imports, such as shipment delays, discrepancies in documentation, and unexpected costs.


5. Time Management:


• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks to ensure the timely arrival of goods.


6. Computer Skills:


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).


• Familiarity with logistics management software or ERP systems is a plus.


7. Customer Orientation:


• Strong customer service skills, both internally (with colleagues) and externally (with suppliers and stakeholders).


8. Negotiation Skills:


• Ability to negotiate favorable terms with vendors, shipping companies, and other partners to reduce import costs.

• Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations.



Requirements

• Certification in Customs Brokerage or knowledge of the Philippine customs processes is a plus.


• Familiarity with HS Code classification and tariff systems.


• Experience in handling specific types of goods (e.g., perishable items, pharmaceuticals, electronics, etc.) is advantageous.
