Description

Job Title: Fleet/Transport Supervisor

Department: Transportation/Logistics

Reports To: CEO/President, Operations Manager

 

Summary:

 

The Fleet/Transport Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of a fleet of vehicles. This includes overseeing drivers, maintaining vehicles, managing logistics, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Fleet Management: Oversee the daily operations of the fleet, including scheduling, routing, and dispatching trucks.
  • Driver Supervision: Manage and supervise a team of drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and performance standards. This includes conducting performance reviews, providing training, and addressing disciplinary issues.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Implement and monitor a preventative maintenance program to ensure the vehicles are in optimal working condition. Coordinate repairs and maintenance with mechanics and vendors.
  • Logistics Management: Plan and optimize delivery routes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods. Monitor delivery progress and resolve any logistical challenges.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company safety policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle maintenance, driver performance, fuel consumption, and other relevant data.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the fleet budget.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with drivers, management, and clients.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve problems related to fleet operations, driver performance, or vehicle maintenance.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fleet management or transportation supervision.
  • Proven track record of success in managing a fleet of vehicles.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using fleet management software and other relevant technologies.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Trucking industry.
  • Bilingual skills.
  • Experience with GPS tracking systems.
  • Certification in fleet management or transportation safety.
