PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the effectiveness of all aspects of the Housekeeping operation and other related departments.
  • Plans, directs, controls and coordinate the activities of all the Housekeeping Personnel engaged in such activities:
  • Cleanliness and maintaining hotel premises.
  • Storing and issuing hotel linens and uniforms.
  • Ensures that all guestrooms, function rooms, public areas, back of the house, pool area and their surroundings conform to the International Standard of Cleanliness, maintenance and orderliness set forth by the Hotel.
  • Inspects hotel rooms and premises regularly, ensures that finishing facilities and equipment are cleaned, repaired, maintained and replaced necessary and inform management of requirement, and sees to it that deficiencies in work of personnel are corrected.
  • Determines needs for General cleaning, repairs or remodeling schedule such work activities in coordination with Engineering Department and Front Office.
  • Trains personnel according to establishment procedures and systems, conduct training, meeting to discuss problems and future plans gives information and assignments to concerned personnel.
  • Briefs Housekeeping Supervisors in Functions, VIP arrivals and other events that will necessitate additional or special preparation or attention.
  • Prepares Annual Housekeeping Goal, Objectives and Budget, develops working plans gives information and assignments to concerned personnel.
  • Controls and sees to the adequacy of inventory of all necessary Housekeeping materials and supplies.
  • Finalizes reports on periodic inventories of Linens and Uniforms and submit the same to the Superior.
  • Coordinates with Front Office regarding room transfers, guest changes and other problems or requirements regarding guest accommodation and billings.
  • Ensure the availability of Linens and Uniforms as required.
  • Approves and/or prepare maintenance work orders, stores requisition reports on guest complaints and other inter office memoranda.
  • Develops standard procedure for new task or changed conditions and submit the same to the superior for the approval.
  • Participates in all Department Head conference/s and other hotel meetings as directed by superior.
  • Monitors preparation and submission of reports and ensures proper maintenance of records.
  • Maintains current Housekeeping Policies and Procedures Manual.

RELATIONSHIP

  • Reports to Director of Rooms or GM/HM in absence of Dir. of Rooms or superior.
  • Directs and supervises activities of the Housekeeping and other related employees.
  • Coordinates with other managers for all activities of the hotel.
  • Interacts with clients, guests, government officials, supplies, and other important individual in the community in promoting the hotel.

  • Continuous learning through own IDP.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the superior.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum education of Bachelor degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Housekeeping in the 5 star environment.
  • Reports to Director of Rooms or GM/HM in absence of Dir. of Rooms or superior.
  • Directs and supervises activities of the Housekeeping and other related employees.
  • Coordinates with other managers for all activities of the hotel.
  • Interacts with clients, guests, government officials, supplies, and other important individual in the community in promoting the hotel.
