Job Roles and Responsibilities:

Acts as a principal engineer that will create a design team for a project through performing conceptual,

reference and detailed engineering design to ensure that proposed designs for clients’ targeted projects are achieved and within set project cost



Design (Conceptual, Reference and Detailed Engineering) o Conduct due diligence and site inspections that will help him deliver the required design.  o Develop at least three (3) design options

o Conduct calculation to support the proposed design

o Prepare design. Develop sketch drawings as input to CAD operators. 

o Review output of CAD operators if it meets the design requirements.

o Prepare the complete technical specification of his design work.

o Prepare bill of quantities and bill of materials (BOQ/BOM) and the corresponding cost estimate and unit price analysis of the completed design work. o As maybe required, collaborates with the Project Team in the development of project ToRs o Perform support function for projects under procurement and construction. o Review and approves the activities carried out by third parties. Project Risk Assessments

o Able to use effective approaches for choosing course of action or developing appropriate solutions.

o Makes timely decisions using available information considering the constrains and identified risks.

o Able to take actions consistent with information and constraints provided and possible risks. Project Data Analysis.

o Develop a plan from the data and the recommended solutions.

o Identify issues, obtain relevant information, relate and compare data from different sources, and identify alternative solutions. Project Schedule o Develop plans to accomplish work and objectives.

o Prepare project schedule and predict the implication of the timeliness of the plan into the organizations goal.

o Allocate and monitor the engineering resources assigned to the project New applicable technologies and equipment that can be used in the performance of task.

• o Research on applicable technologies and equipment available in the industry/market. o Reduces steps in a work process that result in time and cost savings.

  Responsible for the overall management of the

• Ensure that the design is in compliance
  
  with the required specifications, current legislation,
  
  standards and codes. 
• Ensure the design information
  
  is of the right quality and keeps pace with the
  
  project time scales. 
• Strive to eliminate health and
  
  safety risks in the design and financial risks during
  
  construction.

Job Qualifications:

• At least 10 years’ local and international experience in the design and construction of rock tunnel and large civil works.
• Graduate of bachelor’s degree in engineering preferably Civil (must be licensed)
