Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Accounting Officer located in Manila. The Accounting Officer will be responsible for managing financial statements, utilizing accounting software, handling finance-related tasks, and applying analytical skills to support financial planning and decision-making. Daily tasks include preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Job Description

1. General Accounting & Financial Management

• Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
• Process invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring timely collection and disbursement.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure proper cash flow management.
• Assist in budget preparation and expense monitoring.

2. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Ensure timely billing to clients for customs duties, brokerage fees, and other charges.
• Monitor collections and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Process supplier payments and ensure all disbursements are properly documented.

3. Tax Compliance & Government Reporting

• Prepare and file tax returns, including VAT, EWT, and income tax.
• Ensure compliance with BIR, SEC, and other regulatory agencies.
• Maintain proper documentation for tax audits and assessments.

4. Coordination with Other Departments & External Parties

• Work closely with the operations and brokerage teams to verify financial transactions related to shipments.
• Coordinate with banks, auditors, suppliers, and government agencies as needed.
• Assist in financial analysis for management decision-making.

5. Audit & Internal Controls

• Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and controls.
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
• Identify discrepancies and propose corrective actions.
