Description
Pile Installation:
- Piling technicians operate machinery to drive or bore piles into the ground, often using equipment like hydraulic piling rigs or augers.
Pile Inspection:
- They visually inspect piles before, during, and after installation to ensure they are plumb (vertical), properly aligned, and undamaged.
Equipment Operation:
- They operate and maintain various piling equipment, including hammers, augers, and other tools, ensuring they function correctly and safely.
Record Keeping:
- They keep detailed records of pile driving data, including penetration depths, rebound, and any irregularities encountered during installation.
Quality Control:
- They ensure that piles are installed to the correct depth, alignment, and specifications, adhering to project requirements and safety standards.
Working with Engineers:
- Piling technicians work closely with engineers and other construction professionals to ensure the proper installation of piling foundations.
Site Assessment:
