Job Title: Video Caption Quality Annotator

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Video Caption Quality Annotator to review, correct, and enhance video captions according to rigorous guidelines. This role involves careful analysis of video content and captions to ensure accuracy, objectivity, and completeness, as well as precise annotation of camera movements and angles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Video Review:
• Watch each provided video in its entirety without skipping scenes or adjusting playback speed.
• Observe and note all nuances, including object movements, style, and camera angles.
• Caption Analysis & Editing:
• Review the accompanying video caption for errors and missing content, focusing on verbs, object descriptions, and overall accuracy.
• Revise and expand captions to meet the guideline requirements such as:
• Word length.
• Objectivity.
• Sequence: Follow a logical order (e.g., left to right, center outward).
• Background: Describe the setting, including time of day and season.
• Relationships: Note interactions between objects and background, salient spatial relationships, and object counts.
• Overview: Clearly summarize the main object, person, place, or event.
• Grammar: Ensure captions are grammatically correct, use complete sentences, and maintain consistent present tense. Use grammar tools such as LanguageTool for final review.
• Camera Annotation:
• Identify and select the relevant description for:
• Camera motion (e.g., “pan left,” “tilt up”), choosing the first that appears if multiple are present.
• Camera shot type (e.g., close-up, wide shot), choosing the first that appears if multiple are present.
• Vertical camera angle (e.g., high angle, low angle), choosing the first that appears if multiple are present.
• Horizontal camera angle (e.g., frontal, profile), choosing the first that appears if multiple are present.
• Ensure each caption includes at least one term from each category (location, behavior) unless not applicable.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in photography or videography is strongly preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail and observational skills.
• Strong command of English grammar and style.
• Ability to describe visual content objectively and accurately.
• Familiarity with video terminology, including camera movements and angles.
• Experience with grammar correction tools (e.g., LanguageTool) preferred.
• Ability to follow complex instructions and maintain consistency across tasks.

Additional Information

• All work is remote and can be completed on a flexible schedule.
• Training and evaluation guidelines will be provided at the start of the project.
