Job Summary
The Treasury Manager is responsible for managing the Company's treasury operations, ensuring the efficient management of liquidity, financing, cash flow, and financial risk. This senior leadership role is crucial in optimizing the Company’s capital structure, securing financing for real estate development projects, and implementing effective treasury strategies to support the company’s growth objectives. The Treasury Head will provide strategic guidance on funding strategies, financial risk management, and investment management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Investment Management:
- Manage the company’s short-term investments, ensuring that excess liquidity is invested in instruments that align with the company’s risk appetite and liquidity needs.
- Analyze potential investment opportunities and provide recommendations to senior management regarding strategic investments.
Cash and Liquidity Management:
- Oversee the Company’s cash management processes to ensure adequate liquidity to meet operational and project funding needs.
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term cash flow forecasting models to optimize cash utilization.
- Manage cash pooling, cash concentration, and payment cycles to improve cash efficiency and reduce idle cash.
Debt and Capital Structure Management:
- Develop and implement strategies for managing the Company’s debt portfolio, including raising and refinancing debt to fund real estate developments.
- Evaluate and recommend optimal debt structures (e.g., equity vs. debt, bank loans, bonds, or other financing products) based on project needs and market conditions.
- Negotiate terms with financial institutions, investors, and stakeholders to ensure favorable financing conditions.
- Monitor and manage debt covenants, repayment schedules, and interest rate fluctuations.
Risk Management and Hedging:
- Identify, assess, and manage financial risks such as interest rate fluctuations, foreign exchange risk, and liquidity risk.
- Where applicable, implement hedging strategies to mitigate risks and protect the Company’s financial position.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of macroeconomic factors affecting the real estate market, particularly in the Philippines.
Treasury Reporting and Financial Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual treasury reports for senior management and the board, including liquidity position, cash flow performance, and debt management.
- Provide detailed financial analysis to assess the impact of treasury decisions on the Company’s overall financial health.
- Advise senior management on optimizing the capital structure to support growth and profitability.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, banking laws, tax laws, and treasury-related reporting requirements in the Philippines.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the Company’s financial assets and ensure compliance with corporate governance standards.
- Work with external auditors and regulatory bodies to facilitate audits and financial reporting.
Financing Strategy for Property Development Projects:
- Lead the sourcing of funds for real estate development projects, including land acquisition, construction, and pre-development phases.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that financing is secured for both short-term and long-term project requirements.
- Advise on structuring project-specific financing deals, including joint ventures, syndications, and equity partnerships.
- Monitor and manage relationships with investors, banks, and financial institutions to maintain access to financing for ongoing and future developments.
Investor and Banking Relationships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, commercial banks, development finance institutions, and government agencies.
- Manage investor relations for treasury-related issues, including debt issuances and corporate financing.
- Coordinate with banks and investors on the Company’s capital requirements, ensuring the timely disbursement of funds for ongoing developments.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the treasury team, setting clear performance expectations and fostering a culture of high performance.
- Provide guidance and training on best practices in treasury management, cash management, and financial risk assessment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in treasury, finance, or banking, preferably in real estate development or a related industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in managing corporate liquidity, cash flow, debt financing, and risk management.
- Proven track record of structuring and negotiating financing for real estate projects, including land acquisitions, construction, and large-scale developments.
- Deep understanding of Philippine financial regulations, capital markets, and banking practices.
