Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Packaging R&D Engineer to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a key role in the research, design, and development of new packaging solutions to meet the demands of our customers and the industries we serve. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in packaging engineering, with expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), design engineering, and proficiency with CAD software. The Packaging R&D Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to create cutting-edge packaging products while maintaining a focus on sustainability, cost efficiency, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development

• Lead the design and development of new packaging products (rigid and flexible packaging) in alignment with customer requirements and industry trends.
• Develop conceptual and detailed designs for new packaging solutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies and prototype testing for new packaging concepts.
• Ensure designs adhere to functional, aesthetic, and regulatory standards.

Design for Manufacturability (DFM)

• Apply DFM principles to ensure packaging designs are cost-effective, scalable, and easy to manufacture.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure packaging designs can be efficiently produced.
• Optimize designs for minimal waste and maximum resource efficiency.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support

• Work closely with product management, production, and quality teams to align packaging designs with customer specifications and industry standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers to source materials and components for packaging prototypes.
• Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure packaging meets safety and quality standards.

Sustainability and Innovation

• Focus on developing environmentally friendly packaging solutions that promote sustainability.
• Research and integrate new, innovative materials and technologies to create sustainable, high-performance packaging.
• Support the development of reusable and recyclable packaging designs.

CAD & Prototyping

• Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) for designing and modeling packaging solutions.
• Develop 3D models and prototypes for testing and validation.
• Oversee prototype testing, including functional, stress, and environmental tests.

Product Testing & Validation

• Coordinate and execute testing of new packaging designs, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.
• Analyze test data and optimize packaging designs based on feedback.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed documentation of packaging design processes, materials, and testing results.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to internal teams and customers.

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in packaging design and R&D, preferably in the rigid or flexible packaging industry.
• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools).
• Experience with prototype development, testing, and validation processes.
• Familiarity with sustainable packaging trends and materials.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., food safety, chemical safety, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
