Description

The Quality Assurance Specialist in a lending company plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of all lending processes and operations. The primary responsibility is to monitor and evaluate the quality of services provided to clients, ensuring that they meet industry standards, legal regulations, and internal company guidelines. The QA Specialist works closely with different teams, including loan officers, underwriters, and compliance officers, to provide feedback and suggest improvements for operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Monitoring: Regularly assess the quality of loan processing workflows, from application submission through approval to disbursement, ensuring all steps are executed accurately and in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Compliance Checks: Ensure that all loan documentation complies with legal, regulatory, and internal policy standards. Monitor the adherence to federal and state lending regulations, such as fair lending laws and privacy regulations.
  • Audit and Review: Conduct periodic audits of loan files, documentation, and processes to ensure accuracy and completeness. Identify potential errors, discrepancies, and areas of improvement.
  • Report Generation: Compile and present quality assurance reports detailing performance metrics, error rates, and compliance issues. Present findings to management and suggest corrective actions when necessary.
  • Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with loan officers, underwriters, and other operational staff to identify and resolve process inefficiencies, improve customer service, and ensure accurate loan processing.
  • Training & Support: Provide training and guidance to staff regarding quality standards, compliance requirements, and best practices for loan processing. Offer continuous support for improvement in daily activities.
  • Customer Service Feedback: Analyze customer complaints, feedback, and performance data to identify recurring issues and propose solutions for process enhancements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend and help implement improvements to the loan processing system and other workflows to increase accuracy, speed, and customer satisfaction.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with lending processes and work to mitigate them by ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to internal and external guidelines.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field. Certification in Quality Assurance or related certifications (e.g., Six Sigma) is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance, auditing, or a similar role in the financial services or lending industry.
  • Familiarity with loan processing, underwriting, or mortgage operations.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of lending regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
  • Proficiency with quality assurance tools, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
