About the Role
M Moser Associates is seeking a skilled QA/QC Manager to play a critical role in the success of our projects from the Pre-Schematic phase through Construction Services. The QA/QC Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all activities at the project site comply with quality standards as outlined in the Project Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan. This role requires maintaining high standards in material inspection, safety, and quality, as well as proactively identifying and addressing quality issues to ensure project excellence. The role involves working closely with project teams, clients, and contractors to ensure quality is maintained at every stage of the project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality engineering, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement and ensure seamless execution at every project stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to project quality control.
- Review Quality documentation to ensure it is complete, accurate, and meets standards.
- Conduct quality audits, inspections, and tests on materials, equipment, and construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCR) and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve quality-related issues and improve processes.
- Develop and implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and ensure compliance with contractual quality requirements, codes, standards, and specifications.
- Validate the Quality Management System (QMS), Quality Plan and Procedures for the project, including those of contractors and suppliers.
- Verify that all materials received on-site have certification documents as specified and that these documents meet required specifications.
- Lead the establishment of quality objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct inspections, and reviews of project activities, processes, and documentation to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Manage the quality control team, including quality engineers, inspectors, and document controllers, ensuring that resources are effectively utilized.
- Review and approve project quality documentation, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality procedures, and method statements.
- Review and maintain logs for Inspection Requests, Material Inspection Requests, and Method Statement Submittals while monitoring their status.
- Enforce safety standards to align with the company’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and clients to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements, including conducting supplier audits and evaluations.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports to project management and clients, highlighting areas of concern and opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate lessons learned sessions and promote best practices in quality management across the project.
- Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures.
- Conduct inspections and tests on products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Investigate root causes of quality issues and develop corrective actions.
- Work with the production team to resolve quality problems and prevent recurrence.
- Implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, tests, and other quality-related activities.
- Prepare and submit regular quality reports to management.
- Document and update quality standards, procedures, and work instructions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Use quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) to drive improvement projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
- Evaluate and monitor the quality performance of suppliers.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve overall quality.
- Interface with clients and third-party inspectors on quality matters.
- Provide training and guidance on quality procedures to project personnel.
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement within the organization.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in quality engineering.
- Perform other related roles and tasks as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a QA/QC Manager or in a similar role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of project specifications and plans.
- In-depth knowledge of industry codes, standards and regulations.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and processes.
- Proficient in using Quality assurance tools and software.
- Prior experience as a Quality Assurance Auditor is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients and project teams.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
