JOB ROLE: PLANT SUPERVISOR (Fabrication)


ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the steel fabrication plant's operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and safety while maintaining high-quality standards. This role includes managing daily operations, developing and implementing policies, overseeing production processes, ensuring accurate and timely inventory, and leading a skilled workforce. The Plant Manager will also be responsible for training employees, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company objectives.



WHAT YOU’LL DO:


Plant Operations Management:

  • Oversee all daily operations of the steel fabrication plant to ensure smooth workflow, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Monitor production schedules, ensure deadlines are met, and optimize manufacturing processes.

Production & Quality Control:

  • Ensure high-quality standards in steel fabrication, welding, assembly, and finishing.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to minimize defects and rework.
  • Work with engineering teams to troubleshoot and improve fabrication processes.

People Management & Training:

  • Lead, mentor, and train plant personnel, including production leads, welders, and machine operators.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and implement workforce development programs.

Policy & Process Development:

  • Develop and enforce plant policies and procedures to improve efficiency and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental policies, and workplace safety standards.
  • Standardize best practices across the plant and continuously improve processes.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments, addressing hazards proactively.
  • Promote a culture of workplace safety and compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.

Inventory & Supply Chain Management:

  • Monitor and manage parts & materials, equipment, and supply inventory to avoid shortages and delays.
  • Coordinate with procurement, engineering, sales and logistics teams for timely and cost-effective supply chain operations.

Equipment Maintenance & Facility Management:

  • Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of all machinery, tools, and plant facilities.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment breakdowns.
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment upgrades or replacements as needed.




WHO YOU ARE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in steel fabrication, manufacturing, or plant management.
  • Background in Civil and Mechanical engineering, an advantage.
  • Proven leadership experience in a managerial role within a fabrication or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in implementing lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in production planning, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
