Description
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the machine shop team to meet production targets and quality standards
- Monitor and optimize the performance of the machinery and equipment, implementing preventive maintenance procedures to ensure smooth operations
- Develop and implement production schedules, work instructions, and quality control processes to maintain efficiency and product quality
- Identify and resolve any production issues or bottlenecks, implementing corrective actions as needed
- Provide training and mentorship to machine shop personnel to develop their skills and capabilities
- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and quality control, to ensure seamless operations
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to production, maintenance, and quality control
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Machine Shop Supervisor or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of machine shop operations, including CNC machining, tooling, and equipment maintenance
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and implement effective solutions
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or a related field
