About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering Team. This is a permanent opportunity to work on the selection, engineering design, and optimization of valves and process flow equipment within the Oil & Gas and Mining sectors. The role involves technical project delivery both internally and directly to clients, with opportunities to contribute to both design-focused engineering and client support for pressure safety valve (PSV) applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop technical documentation, including calculations, procedures, datasheets, technical proposals, and engineering reports.
• Design and produce drawings for valve and actuator components, assemblies, and related equipment in compliance with industry standards.
• Perform calculations for sizing and selecting actuators, pressure safety valves, and control valves.
• Provide technical support to the workshop, shutdown teams, and clients.
• Prepare and review technical specifications for valve procurement and sales.
• Manage project and design documentation.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project success.
• Communicate technical solutions effectively, providing expert guidance on PSV-related topics where required.
• Comply with all safety requirements and workplace regulations.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS 

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Preferably Board Passer).
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, design, or a related field.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (including developing 3D models and detailed drawings, minimum 2 years of experience). Experience with PDM is an advantage.
• Understanding of pressure systems, piping, vessels, flanges, and bolting is an advantage.
• High proficiency in English (written and verbal communication).
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with clients and internal teams.
• Strong time management, organizational, and planning skills.

• Work within the safety-first environment/culture with other members of your team and encourage safe behavior
• All incidents and near misses must be reported to management/safety as soon as practically possible
• Be familiar with, and adhere to Callidus safety policies/procedures and bulletins
• Intervene where you see any unsafe behaviors/acts or practices
• Ensure all areas abide by good housekeeping practices
• Ensure JSA’s and lift plans are used for all work carried out. Assess these for suitability and adequacy
• Attend safety meetings
• Promptly close out any actions assigned
• Complete assigned safety walkthroughs
• Participate in fire drills
