The Learning Specialist supports the school’s mission by promoting the dignity of every learner and fostering an inclusive and compassionate learning environment. The role is centered on enabling students with diverse learning needs to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually through targeted interventions, collaborative planning, and formation grounded on the Educational and Pedagogical Model of the School.
Responsibilities:
Student Support: Provides direct, individualized, and small-group support for students with learning differences to improve academic outcomes and self-confidence.
Learning Plans: Develops and monitors Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) aligned with student needs and educational objectives.
Instructional Collaboration: Works with teachers to adapt instruction and assessments to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Capacity Building: Conducts training and coaching for faculty on inclusive practices and differentiated instruction.
Monitoring and Reporting: Tracks student progress, maintains accurate records, and communicates regularly with relevant stakeholders.
Faith and Values Integration: Upholds the school’s Catholic identity by incorporating compassion, empathy, and respect for the dignity of every learner in all interactions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, Education, or a closely related field.
Preferably with a Master’s degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Educational Psychology, or related fields.
Solid understanding of inclusive education principles and practices.
Knowledge of child development, learning psychology, and behavior management.
Experience in designing and implementing Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs).
Familiarity with diagnostic assessments, intervention planning, and progress monitoring tools.
At least six years of relevant teaching or learning support experience, preferably within a Catholic or values-based school setting.
Working knowledge of the Philippine basic education system and DepEd policies on inclusive education.
