Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced mid- to senior-level Tax Preparer to join our team remotely for the upcoming tax season. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tax preparation for both individuals and small businesses, along with a strong understanding of Ohio municipal taxes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare individual and business tax returns with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

- Handle pass-through business income and other relevant tax forms.

- Formulate tax strategies tailored to small businesses and their owners.

- Engage with clients through our secure client portal for document exchange and retention.

Qualification and requirements:

- Experience: Proven experience as a tax preparer, with proficiency in Drake Tax software or similar software

- Skills: Fluency in English and exceptional attention to detail.

- Preferred Experience: Candidates with experience handling pass-through business income, developing tax strategies, and directly communicating with clients are preferred.

- Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with Google Workspace and Slack for internal collaboration. Experience using secure client portals for document exchange is a plus.

- Ohio municipal taxes experience preferred but not required

Non-negotiable skills & requirements:

- Proven experience as a tax preparer, with proficiency in Drake Tax software or similar software.
