Givery aims to provide the missing link that our clients need to scout, hire, and train world-class engineers. We are profitable, privately owned, and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. We have a diverse team from all corners of the world and we are looking for a motivated Product Development Analyst to help us expand Track, a platform that helps companies train and evaluate technical skills.


What we're up to

We’re the creators of the award-winning skill evaluation and training platform 'Track'. We are currently tackling the exciting mission of modernizing Japan's hiring culture and helping companies build and maintain strong engineering teams.


Through this year and beyond, we plan to expand our product lineup, enhance our UI/UX, roll out new microservices, and build new features, which we hope you’ll be a significant part of in the planning and building process.


Responsibilities

- Work with stakeholders to gather and clarify business requirements for new features and enhancements.

- Research and document user needs, market trends, and competitor offerings to inform product decisions.

- Gather and synthesize user and stakeholder feedback to identify improvement opportunities.

- Conduct data analysis to provide insights for product decision-making.

- Draft specifications and user stories.

- Help maintain and organize the product backlog, ensuring items are well-documented and clear.

- Support communication between the development team and stakeholders by preparing reports and documentation.

- Assist in tracking development progress and identifying potential roadblocks.

Requirements

  • 1 year of professional experience in software development, design, product, or analytical roles related to software development.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent documentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts.
  • Basic understanding of software development processes.
  • Proficiency with common productivity and collaboration tools such as Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Calendar), Notion, and Slack or similar.


Nice-to-have

  • 3+ years professional experience in software development, product, or related analytical roles.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and product management tools like Jira.
  • Understanding of Japanese business culture.
  • Experience in user research or usability testing.
  • Strong interest in emerging technology trends.
  • Experience working in remote or distributed teams.
  • Business level proficiency in English.


Language

  • Business-level Japanese conversation, reading, and writing skills.
  • Daily conversational level English ability.

Selection Process

Generally, we are able to move pretty fast from the time someone applies until we send them an offer, so it’s up to the candidate’s schedule. Here are the steps:


- Track Test

- Casual chat

- Team interview (usually 3 rounds over 2 hours with people you’ll work with)

- Manager interview

- Offer!

Precautions

- If you reside abroad and are hired, you will need to relocate to Japan.

- You need either a diploma or more than 10 years of engineering experience to obtain a visa.

- In addition to visa support, one-way airfare will be provided.

Working Hours:

Flextime System·- Flextime system with core hours from13:00-16:00. Start between 8-13,finish between16-22. Minimum.6hrs/ day. 1hr break.
