Key Responsibilities:

Technical:

• Managing database access and permissions.
• Ensuring that databases meet users’ requirements.
• Liaising with programmers, applications/operational staff, IT project managers and other technical staff.
• Reviewing and managing database security, integrity and backup procedures.
• Writing operating manuals and providing training and support for database use.
• Devising and implementing processes for resolving faults and data loss.
• Writing disaster recovery plans.
• Archiving data.
• Extracting and/or loading data
• Setting up cybersecurity measures
• Ensuring all hardware and software are updated
• Authenticating data
• Monitoring the performance of hardware and software
• Configuring servers and databases and preserving data integrity
• Ethically handling private data, including financial and/or healthcare data for certain companies

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

• At least 3-5 years experience as a development DBA is required

• Advanced knowledge and experience in the design and support of large, multi- terabyte and mission critical databases in a 24*7 environment

• 3-5 years of experience with SQL and Database Administration.

• 3 years of experience managing or implementing enterprise-scale data warehouse or database projects.

• 1-3 years of experience working with high availability and disaster recovery using MS SQL Server.

• Experience with troubleshooting complex database problems such as performance, corruption and recovery

• Advanced knowledge of database internals and data structures

• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server 2016 and above (5+ years) - architecture, including installation, configuration, and administration’s

• Expertise in database design, optimization, and performance tuning

• Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery solutions like Always on Availability Groups and database mirroring.

• Scripting skills in a language like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

Tools:

• Mandatory: SQL, Azure, MS SQL Server, Database backup tools (Veeam,

Commvault, Arcserver, etc.), Azure SQL Database

• Nice to have: Kubernetes architecture, containerize SQL Server workloads using

Kubernetes
