A Safety Officer's primary responsibility is ensuring a safe and healthy workplace by enforcing safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety measures. They are also involved in training employees on safety protocols and investigating workplace accidents. 

A minimum of a high school diploma is generally needed, but a bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field is often preferred.
