Description

  • Compliance and Policy Development: Developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies that comply with Philippine labor laws. This includes drafting employment contracts, employee handbooks, and policies on wages, benefits, working conditions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Legal Compliance: Monitoring and ensuring company-wide compliance with all applicable labor laws, rules, and regulations in the Philippines.
  • Employee Grievances and Discipline: Managing the employee disciplinary process, including preparing notices to explain, conducting administrative hearings, and issuing notices of decision.
  • Labor Dispute Resolution: Representing the company in labor disputes before the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC). Handling cases related to illegal dismissal, wage disputes, and unfair labor practices.
  • Training and Guidance: Providing training and guidance to employees and management on HR policies, labor laws, and best practices to ensure compliance and prevent legal issues.
  • Risk Management: Partnering with HR to evaluate risk factors and develop strategies affecting business decisions and operations.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of employee information, employment contracts, and payroll records.
  • Experience: HR and/or legal experience is preferred, with a strong willingness to be trained in labor and maritime laws.
  • Knowledge of Labor Laws: Familiarity with the Labor Code of the Philippines and other relevant statutes such as the Social Security Act, National Health Insurance Act, and Home Development Mutual Fund Law.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in English, including correct spelling, grammar, tone, and syntax.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, commitment to client service, and the ability to build internal and external relationships.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Technological Proficiency: Proficient with software applications such as SharePoint and the Microsoft Office suite.
