Benevola de Cebu Foundation Inc. (BDCFI), the corporate social responsibility arm of Asociacion Benevola de Cebu, Inc. (ABDCI) is looking for a dynamic Communications Officer to lead and elevate the foundation’s visibility, messaging, and stakeholder engagement. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role is responsible for shaping and delivering compelling content, strengthening media and community relations, managing the foundation’s branding, and ensuring our programs and advocacy work are communicated with impact and integrity.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Communications

  • Develop and implement clear, impactful communication strategies to support the foundation’s goals.
  • Craft compelling content for newsletters, social media, websites, brochures, reports, and campaigns.
  • Maintain an active, engaging presence across all digital platforms, aligned with the foundation’s voice and branding.
  • Build and manage an editorial calendar to ensure timely and consistent messaging.
  • Track and evaluate communication efforts, adjusting strategies to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Support internal communications to align messaging across teams and partners.

  • Public & Media Relations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Write and distribute press releases, media kits, advisories, and event coverage.
  • Coordinate media engagement for events, interviews, and speaking opportunities.
  • Represent the foundation in external engagements, public forums, and media interactions as needed.
  • Support crisis communication planning and execution to protect the foundation’s reputation.


3. Branding & Creative Content

  • Uphold and promote a strong, consistent brand identity across all materials.
  • Design or oversee the production of creative assets (e.g., graphics, videos, presentations).
  • Manage and improve visual communications using tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with local government units, community leaders, and partner organizations to build collaboration and trust.
  • Create communication materials that support stakeholder alignment, program promotion, and advocacy.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in nonprofit or development work.
  • Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in content creation, digital campaigns, and social media management.
  • Skilled in graphic design and multimedia tools (Adobe Suite, Canva, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of branding, media relations, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and has passion for community development and advocacy work
