  • Cashier Job Description:

  • A cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions in retail stores, supermarkets, or other businesses. They operate cash registers, scan items, process payments, issue receipts, and assist customers with questions or concerns.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greet customers and provide assistance, answer questions, and resolve complaints in a polite and professional manner.

  • Transaction Processing: Operate cash registers to process payments, including cash, credit/debit cards, or mobile payments.

  • Handling Cash: Count and verify cash in the register before and after shifts, and ensure cash handling procedures are followed accurately.

  • Bagging Purchases: Assist customers by bagging items, ensuring fragile items are handled with care.

  • Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials like bags and receipt paper.

  • Managing Returns and Exchanges: Process customer returns, exchanges, and refunds according to store policy.

  • Accuracy: Ensure transactions are processed accurately and efficiently, including scanning items correctly and giving back the correct change.

    • Requirements

    Skills & Qualifications:

    Basic Math Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic to handle cash transactions and make change.

    Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers in a positive manner.

    Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in processing transactions and counting cash.
