Description

Job Summary:

The Audio Visual Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and trouble shooting AV equipment for meetings, events and presentations. This role demands a strong understanding of audio, video and lighting systems, coupled with excellent communication and technical skills. A minimum of a 2 year associate degree in a related field is essential for the position.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate AV equipment, including microphones, projectors, video cameras, sound systems, lighting, and video conferencing tools.
  • Collaborate with clients or event coordinators to determine AV needs.
  • Test equipment prior to events and troubleshoot technical issues during events.
  • Install and configure AV hardware and software in conference rooms, classrooms, or event spaces.
  • Maintain and repair AV equipment as needed.
  • Ensure equipment is stored properly and areas are clean and organized.
  • Provide technical support to users before and during events or meetings.
  • Keep up with trends and advancements in AV technology.
  • Document equipment usage, maintenance, and event setups.


Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Audio Visual Technology, Electronics, Broadcasting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant AV experience.
  • Solid understanding of AV systems, including signal flow, projection, lighting, and sound.
  • Proficient in AV software and tools (e.g., Zoom, WebEx, Crestron, Extron, etc.).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or in tight spaces.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
