About Company
PAREF Southridge School is a private school that offers K to 12 education system. The K-12 aims to enhance learners basic skills, produce more competent individuals, and better prepare graduates for employment. This system has 6 years of elementary education, 4 years of junior high, and 2 years of senior high school.
It was founded in 1979 by the Parents for Education Foundation Inc. (PAREF), a non-profit foundation formed by a group of parents who envisioned a group of schools that would offer values-based teaching of children. Founded in 1976, PAREF would go on to establish schools across the country that would live by the basic educational principle of Parents First, Teachers Second, and Students Last, which implies the primacy of the formation of parents and teachers in order to achieve formation of students. This principle of education is one of the key teachings of St. Josemaria Escriva, founder of Opus Dei, from whom the school’s founding parents got their inspiration.
PAREF Southridge School for Boys is located in Hillsborough Alabang, Cupang, in Muntinlupa City. It is in a gated community within a well-developed area in the south of Metro Manila.
Since its inception, Southridge has maintained an all-male faculty and staff, preserving the tradition of single-gender schooling that Southridge and other PAREF schools are known for.
Today, Southridge is esteemed as a world-class academic institution with fully-equipped academic facilities, a beautiful chapel, a state-of-the-art auditorium and professional-level sports facilities. In the words of renowned columnist Monique Villonco, Southridge is “one of the country’s bastions of classical education.”
Now in its 42nd year of forming students and their families, Southridge continues to produce alumni who make remarkable accomplishments in various fields like business, sports, academics, culture, the arts and politics. Southridge graduates attend the top universities in the country. About ninety- percent of our graduates go to UP, ADMU, DLSU, UST and UA&P while the rest go to other universities here or attend prestigious colleges and universities abroad like Harvard, Yale and MIT.
VISION
We envision graduates who are MEN OF INTEGRITY, well-formed and principled individuals, who contribute to the common good of society.
MISSION
We, the Southridge family of parents, teachers, officers, administrative staff, students and alumni are dedicated to fulfill our Vision.
We strengthen and unite the family as an institution of society, enabling the parents to exercise their role as primary educators of their sons, with the teachers as their active partners
We equip our teachers with the means to become respected authorities in their fields.
We provide training and formation to our administrative staff so that they become respected professionals and models of excellence in service.
We provide a balanced and demanding academic and personal formation for our students so that they live according to the Christian ideal.
We provide opportunities for continuing formation for our alumni.
We keep our campus elegant, outstandingly clean and orderly, faithful to our spirit of Christian poverty, as part of the necessary means to achieve excellence.
We, the Southridge family, trusting in God’s abundant grace, move as one body, work as one team, act as one family, to make our vision a reality.
